This edition of the I AM WWPS video series features James Polson, an instructor in Advanced Manufacturing and Welding Technology at SEATech.

Originally from Arizona, James pursued engineering before discovering his passion for teaching during a student teaching assignment at Lewiston High School. That experience led him to change course and dedicate his career to education.

James graduated from the University of Idaho and brings real-world experience to the classroom, having worked in several manufacturing and automotive shops. He previously taught at Pilot Rock and McLoughlin High School in Milton-Freewater before joining SEATech, where he has been a valued educator for the past 10 years.

Outside of teaching, James enjoys restoring cars—he’s proud of having restored a Volkswagen—and spending time outdoors, especially fishing. He and his wife Kerri, who works in the WWPS Business Office, have two adult daughters.

Thank you James for your commitment to students and your continued service to the Walla Walla Public Schools community.
