NCTA and Lincoln Theatre Collaborate to Expand Opportunities Through Film
Expanding Opportunities Through Partnership
Step into a century of history while exploring the future of education.
Join Northwest Career and Technical Academy (NCTA) on April 30 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the historic Lincoln Theatre, as it celebrates its 100th anniversary, for a free community screening of the documentary Multiple Choice.
As the Lincoln Theatre marks 100 years as a cornerstone of arts, culture, and community life in Mount Vernon, this event offers a meaningful way to honor its legacy while looking ahead to the future. The theatre’s long-standing role as a gathering place makes it the perfect setting for a conversation about education, opportunity, and what comes next for students in our region.
Multiple Choice challenges the idea that there is only one path after high school. The film highlights the power of real-world learning, career pathways, and helping students discover purpose—while reinforcing a shared commitment to expanding opportunities through partnership between schools, colleges, and industry.
This evening is more than a film screening—it’s an opportunity to reflect on the past century of community storytelling in this historic venue while reimagining what success can look like for the next generation.
This event is free and open to all.

Three NCTA Programs Collaborate for Culinary Clash
Mark your calendar for May 6, 2026 at 6:00 PM as Northwest Career and Technical Academy hosts the 5th Annual Kitchen Wars at its campus, 2205 W Campus Pl in Mount Vernon. With only 150 tickets available and a sellout crowd last year, this is an event you will not want to miss.
Kitchen Wars showcases the incredible talent of NCTA students across the Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry, and Money and Business Marketing programs. This year features 18 student teams, including 14 culinary teams and 4 baking and pastry teams, all competing in a high energy, real world restaurant challenge.
Culinary Year Two students take the lead by developing their own restaurant concepts and business plans, then bringing them to life through creative, competition ready dishes. Money & Business students assist by creating marketing plans and organizing this flagship event. Guests can expect an evening full of innovation, flavor, and entrepreneurship while supporting the next generation of industry professionals.
