Students in the Biotech program were conducting an ELISA test (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), a lab technique used to detect the presence of antibodies or antigens in a sample — in this case, testing for signs of bacterial meningitis among college students.

🦷✨ Cross-Collab in Action! ✨🦷
Dental II paid a special visit to the Sports Medicine class to teach the importance of proper brushing and flossing to fight off plaque! 🙌💪
With Ms. Yvonne leading the charge, students got hands-on with some basic Microbiology and even examined real plaque samples under the microscope 🔬😷.
Because knowing what’s in your mouth might just change how you brush! 😬🪥

So proud of our students at NEWTech Prep! We’ve been busy spreading some love and appreciation to our local veterinary professionals.
It all started when students emailed our Vet Assisting instructor silly photos of their pets, which we used to create this custom poster. This past week, they personally delivered them to 49 local vet clinics, along with a small goody bag of stickers to brighten their day.
Huge thank you to our students for leading this project and spreading such positive energy in our community. #connectwithnewtech #veternarytechniciansweek

Just some of the work we did today at WST! #levelupatwst

Law & Justice reigned supreme in this week’s Squatober Challenge, beating Sports Medicine 🏆 In a battle of freeze squats, the morning winner braved 20 minutes while the afternoon winner withstood a valiant 14 minutes! Way to go competitors! On to next week 💪

SVT Students: It's mini-design week! Therefore, we will follow C day Wed, Thurs A, and Fri will be B day.
New to SVT? Mini-design is a time we get to practice the design process based on a problem that needs solved in small groups, usually broken up with 1 person per grade level. In the past, we've designed Chromebook cases, backpacks, SVT promotional materials, etc.
More info will come out soon!

✨Field-side learning hits different under the Friday night lights! 🏈💉 Huge THANK YOU to our amazing District Events Manager, Jessica Mesfin, for making it all happen at Highline’s Homecoming game! 💙
Our Sports Medicine students got an incredible opportunity to observe real-time athlete care—from sideline assessments to treatment protocols—alongside an Orthopedist, EMTs, and Athletic Trainers. 💪🏽💼
Special shoutout to Dr. Peters Otlans from Proliance Surgeons (Burien) and Emmy & Piper from Tri-Med for sharing your expertise and giving students hands-on exposure to a true multidisciplinary approach to athlete care. 🧠👟 From SOPs to patient care, it was a front-row seat to how teamwork makes recovery work. 🙌
THIS is what community building + career learning looks like. Let’s keep leveling up. 🚑🩺 #SportsMedInAction #FridayNightLearning #TeamworkInCare #HighlineHomecoming #FutureHealthcareHeroes @trimedambulance @proliancesurgeons

Here are a few photos from session 2 of Catapults & Castles Camp from this past Saturday. Thank you to all the campers who came out (we had grades 1-8 here), our SVT student volunteers, and our staff helpers!
Campers learned about the engineering and design process by building mini catapults from popsicle sticks/plastic spoons to launch marshmallows and constructed cardboard castles to test creativity and problem-solving skills. The design process is a cornerstone of what we do on our projects/assignments at SVT.
FYI we are having another STEM type day camp next month too...more info will come out shortly!! We'd love to see your student again.
