Northwest Career & Technical Academy (NCTA), in collaboration with Jack Carroll’s Skagit Hyundai, is proud to have offered several valuable instructional internship opportunities over the past three year to NCTA students. NCTA students who participate in this comprehensive, four-week paid internship program gain hands-on experience and knowledge under the expert guidance of Jack Carroll’s professional team. This program not only paves the way for potential employment but also provides a chance to earn a $5,000 scholarship to Skagit Valley College (SVC) to further their careers in the Automotive Service industry. Wizards of the Coast, renowned for iconic games like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, recently hosted an engaging event for our students here at NCTA. Over 40 students from our Animation, Graphic Design, and Video Game Development courses attended, thanks to a sponsorship by Games for Change in partnership with Hasbro and under the expert guidance of Mary Elizabeth Pearson. Employees generously volunteered their time, and some students had the incredible opportunity to spend time with John Hight, President of Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming, among the other 20+ Hasbro employees.

Our second year Pre-Electrical students here at Tri-Tech Skills Center had the opportunity, along with Mr. Coe, to tour the almost completed Prosser Memorial Hospital. It was truly a gift to see what we teach our students translated into the real world and the impact electricians have on important buildings like hospitals. Thank you Garrett Electrical for giving us this amazing opportunity and thank you to Jeff and Dalton for showing us your work and answering all of our students' questions. @prossermemorial @garrettelectrical
West Sound Tech, OC Esthetician and Cosmetology students had an opportunity to take a lash class put on by our certified teaching staff. Students will receive their Industry recognized credential for lashes! #wstworks

The Pre Vet students participated in the CBC Holiday Hustle today along with some of our local FFA students! It was a great experience to work through agricultural scenarios! I’m so proud to share that one of my student teams took 3rd place in their presentation competition! Way to represent @TriTech!!!
Fire Science Cadets at Fire District 3 participated in the Hockinson Tree Lighting ceremony. The Cadets helped with parking and served chili to the community members who came to participate in the festivities.
A generous donation of $481 was given to the Cadets for their service. The money will go towards paying for Live Fire Training at Clatsop Community College- MERTS (Marine and Environmental Research and Training Station) Campus for their FLARE (Field Leadership and Response Exercise) training.

Mrs. Loncon's Physical Conditioning students have been creating their own games, teaching them to the class, and then actually having the class play the game. Now until Winter break!
Here we have a group that came up with a very intricate game inspired by the video game Mario Party, but their version is called Loncon Party 🥳. Students learn teamwork, teaching/presenting, problem solving, project management, and creative concept development. This group even said how challenging it is to "teach" and got a feel for what Mrs.Loncon/our teachers do every day. These skills are definitely useful in all our other classes and in the future. Great job, Innovators! We love seeing what you create.
