Our Dental Assisting students learned about the importance of proper ergonomics for injury prevention and career longevity. They all practiced stretching and strengthening exercises and then developed their own routines which they shared with classmates. Meet Brianna Madison, a 2022 graduate of the West Sound Tech Esthetics College Program and the incredible owner of Luxe Beauty Studio & Academy in Silverdale, WA! 💖
Licensed for 2 years, Brianna has already built an amazing career specializing in permanent makeup, lash extensions, and lash lifts—and now she’s taking it a step further by training and mentoring new artists who are ready to launch their own careers. 🙌

Check out this exciting short video features the life-changing experience that high school students had aboard Adventuress this year. This 9-day credit earning, Career & Technical Education (CTE) summer course is in partnership with Seattle Skills Center and Seattle Public Schools.
Students climb aboard for a 4-day consecutive day program where they get an introduction to the ship and then set sail for a 5-day overnight voyage where they can deepen their maritime skills and work alongside professional crew members.

Savanna has distinguished herself in the techniques and processes of the kitchen as well as the leadership and management of PROvisions, our student run Cafe.
After her first year with us, she began an entry-level job with ManitoCountry Club. She has since been promoted to their front line of cooks; she also works the private events at the club and is willing and able to help their staff in other capacities as needed.
Savanna credits NEWTech with giving her the confidence, skills and connections necessary to grow and get a job in her preferred field.
But her big news this week is that Savanna has been accepted to the @escoffierschools in Austin Texas. One of the premier cooking schools in the US. Savanna will focus on the Pastry Arts.

Our Pre-Physical Therapy students completed their BLS/First Aid certifications with the first aid final that included creating traumatic injuries, talking about the mechanism of injury and what first aid would be required prior to the arrival of first responders. Cory Gestson, a member of Boeing's Workforce Development, came out to our Anacortes campus to talk to our students about the opportunities offered by the world's largest aerospace manufacturing company. Cory told us about the many different career opportunities that students from our Core Plus Aerospace Manufacturing program have access to. Currently, Boeing is accepting applications for their paid summer internship positions. Over the years, many of our Aerospace students have applied to and been accepted into this program where they learn what it's like to build some of the biggest and most advanced aircraft in the world.
Cory was also eager to tell our students about the BPET program offered exclusively to students in these Core Plus Aerospace programs. The BPET form is the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket of this industry. By showing a high aptitude and meeting the NCTA standards of Highly Sought After professional expectations, students can apply to Boeing with this form that moves them straight to the final steps of the hiring process at Boeing. The partnership exists only because of the reputation of NCTA students over the years in these professional environments.
If you are a junior or senior in high school and are interested in the oldest and most important skilled trade in the Puget Sound region, the Northwest Career & Technical Academy may be a great fit for you!
