He has been teaching our Welding & Metal Fabrication program for the past 23 years, he says that the best thing in the world is having the chance to change a young persons life! The passion he has for teaching and preparing the next generation of welders radiates each day. This year Bob has helped transition the program to our new incredible instructor that will take over the legacy. He has also helped greet our students each morning at the front door with a fist bump and a smile, helping start each morning off with a positive note.
We wish you the best Bob, enjoy your well deserved retirement!

February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month!
Across Washington State, skill centers like NEWTech Prep are helping close the skilled-worker gap by preparing students for high-demand careers—especially in fields like welding and fabrication, where employers are actively seeking trained, job-ready talent.
Through hands-on training, industry-aligned curriculum, and partnerships with local employers and apprenticeship programs, NEWTech students gain real-world skills in safety, fabrication techniques, blueprint reading, and precision workmanship. Students graduate with a strong foundation that leads directly to apprenticeships, employment, or continued technical education.
CTE isn’t just education—it’s workforce development.
And it’s happening right here in our community. NewTech FB Video Link

All month long, we’re celebrating the impact of CTE and the students, instructors, and programs that make hands-on learning possible. Career and Technical Education opens doors to high-skill, high-demand careers and helps students turn passion into profession.

Way to go FITErs, we are so proud of you 💪

With our *50th ANNIVERSARY* quickly approaching, we wanted to share some updates you may see around our campus and share how far we have come!
We have refreshed for the future and made some changes in our logo, but we are still same place! We have also made an update to our sign in the front of our building, making it much more visible.
We wanted to take a moment to show you how far we have truly come since the dream of Sno-Isle TECH came to fruition! The first sign in the photos is back from 1977 when Sno-Isle TECH first began. It began with offering the following 17 programs: Auto Mechanics, Advanced Business & Office, Construction Trades, Cosmetology, Custodial, Data Accounting, Dental Assistant, Electronics/Electricity, Engineering Aide/Drafting, Food Preparation, Horticulture/Landscaping, Machine Trades, Medical Office Assistant, Nursing Aides/Orderlies, Plastics, Veterinarian Aide/Animal Care, Welding. These programs at the time were only available to 9 districts around the county.
The second photo is the sign now in 2026, 49 years later! Our school now houses the following 25 programs: Animation, Computers Servers & Networking, Electronics Engineering Technology, Video Game Design, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts Management & Operations, Culinary Arts Baking & Pastry, Culinary Arts Production & Service, Fashion & Merchandising, Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Veterinary Assisting, Criminal Justice, Fire Service Tech, Early Childhood Education, Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace Manufacturing, Auto Body & Collision, Automotive Technology, Construction Trades, Diesel Power Technology, Welding & Metal Fabrication. These programs are now available to all high schools around Snohomish County & South Island County, totaling 15 districts!
Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center has been providing opportunities and launching careers for nearly 50 years and we can’t wait to see what the next 50 brings!
Stay tuned as we begin planning our 50th Anniversary celebration, open to all alumni and past Sno-Isle TECH employees and community partners! Thank you all for supporting us and our students!

@WestSoundTech

NCTA Construction Program students had the opportunity to learn from Lisa Marx, a valued member of the NCTA Technical Advisory Committee Board and a representative from the Western States Council of Carpenters.
Lisa shared insight into the many career paths under the Carpenters program umbrella, including specialties like Millwrights and Infectious Disease Risk Assessment—opening students’ eyes to the wide range of opportunities available in the trade.
This marks Lisa’s third year guest speaking with our students, and we’re grateful for her continued support and commitment to career-connected learning!
