March Surgery madness! Students learned about all things surgery related! We covered aseptic technique, autoclave sterilization, surgical pack preparation, surgical instrumentation and even basic suturing! Proud of the students for working hard!
PCSC students traveled to the Washington HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference in Spokane. Students competed in health-related competitions, attended leadership training and interactive workshops and networked with other future health professionals.

IOS came to NCTA and met with the CJ students to talk about the services they provide to people in Mount Vernon who may be homeless, drug addicted, mentally challenged, or a combination of these. The members of IOS are all MSW, Master in Social Work.

Director's Message
CBTECH is entering the homestretch with our students, with February and March dedicated to preparing them for employment.
We kicked off this effort with a "Manners Meal," ensuring students feel confident if they are ever invited to a lunch or dinner as part of an interview. They learned proper table etiquette as well as general dining manners. Our goal is to prepare them for every possible scenario, so they never feel uncertain or unprepared.
During a recent Work Wednesday, State Trooper Bryan Villanueva with the Washington State Patrol spoke with our students about essential interview skills—how to prepare, what to do during the interview, and the importance of follow-up.
Over the next three Work Wednesdays, all of our seniors will have the opportunity to participate in at least one professional interview with an industry professional they have never met before. We have worked hard to prepare them, and feedback from interviewers has been overwhelmingly positive!

⭐Big Congrats to our Radical Raccoons (team 10416) FIRST Robotics team for their performance at this past weekend's Yakima SunDome event. We ended up ranking 11th out of 34 teams. Teaching Table Etiquette for Future Success
In today’s fast-paced world, proper table manners are often overlooked, yet they play a crucial role in professional and social settings. Whether it’s a business lunch or a formal dinner interview, knowing how to navigate a meal with confidence can set someone apart. That’s why at CBTECH, we took the opportunity to teach our students the importance of etiquette through what we call “Manner’s Meal.”
During this event, all students were served a meal while learning about place settings, table manners, and professional dining etiquette. Seating was intentionally randomized, encouraging students to engage in conversation with new faces—an essential skill in both networking and the workforce.
A huge shoutout to our Culinary Arts students who prepared the delicious meals! AM students enjoyed Chilaquiles, a traditional Mexican breakfast, while PM students were served Schnitzel for lunch.
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hello Nature, Pieces of Parrott, and Brady White and his family for their generosity in helping with decorations and table setup. Your efforts made our dining experience truly special, and we appreciate your willingness to help make the event as beautiful as it was!
