Thank you to Leah Salmon-Conroy of Providence for presenting Stop the Bleeding Training with Adv Manufacturing and BioTech this am. She's also an alumni mom, so it's great to have her back!
This training teaches how to control life-threatening bleeding until professional medical help arrives...a very important skill to know in general, but also especially for our students working around big machinery and other science related tools.

Our Firefighting and EMS students and staff spent Saturday morning with the Badger Mountain Trail Master and a group of volunteers clearing additional space on the Skyline Trail. The group used their wildland hand crew skills to quickly widen the trail and remove dangerous obstacles in the such as larger rocks, etc. They plan to be out next weekend to finish the rest of the work. At the beginning of this school year, our Gesa credit union branch moved out of Mrs. Warren's old class to the commons (right in front of Mr. Smith's class). This allows our branch to be more student facing. Students can open real accounts and get a special SVT Debit card through our branch.
Our Gesa student intern this year is junior Jax Taylor; he actually works at a real Gesa branch after school too. Other student tellers include Sophia Chay, Adam Murphy, Charolette Futrell , Peyton Ward, Lucas Nierenberg, and Jason Foreman. Gesa often partners with our school,as well as other local schools in the community, and we so appreciate their support. They provide pizza sometimes for us that is associated with different fiscal educational events, provide prizes for drawings, etc.
The second photo, Gesa provided the prizes for our Halloween day drawing. Winners were Ash Newton (orange cloak) and Drew Crese (white shirt). The other students in the photo were some of our tellers, previously mentioned.

What an exciting weekend. A team from our Digital Arts and Filmmaking class won the Student Division of the Tri-Fi International Film Festival 72 Hour Film Challenge. The winning team is pictured below and includes; Lily F. from River View, Franklin S. who is home schooled, Chassidy E. from Hanford, and Hannah E. (not pictured) from MCP

Our students were proud to represent their programs and help the 8th graders see the unlimited possibilities for their future.
