Since it appears that winter is coming whether we like it or not, we wanted to remind everyone about our winter weather procedures. Tri-Tech follows Kennewick School District delays and cancellations. A 2 hour delay in Kennewick means no AM Tri-Tech or AM Pre-School. A cancellation in Kennewick means no Tri-Tech at all. Since we cover a large geographical area with very different weather depending on where you are, there will be times when our outlying districts will call 2 hour delays but the larger districts will not. Students will be school excused if their district is delayed or cancelled. Most importantly we want parents to know that if you feel it is not safe for your child to come to school, whether on a bus or if they drive, please call our attendance office and let us know to excuse your student (509-222-7307). WST students stepped up BIG TIME for CK food line. We gathered 1,259 items for the local food bank. This is an all time high!

CBTECH Days: Inspiring Our Future Learners!
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 5th-grade classes from across our district to our annual CBTECH Days event, formally known as Potato Days! Students toured our campus with the help of our amazing program ambassadors, who introduced them to each program and gave them a fun, hands-on look at what we do here at CBTECH.
Throughout the day, students participated in age-appropriate activities designed to spark curiosity, build excitement, and help them imagine new possibilities for their future. From exploring career pathways to discovering new skills, the energy and engagement from these young learners were incredible!
Our hope is that this experience opened their minds to alternative secondary education options and showed them just how super cool Skills Centers really are.
A huge thank you to our ambassadors, staff, and the elementary schools who joined us—your enthusiasm made CBTECH Days unforgettable!

Esta semana tuvimos el placer de recibir a las clases de 5º grado de las escuelas primarias de nuestro distrito para nuestro evento anual CBTECH Days. Los estudiantes recorrieron nuestro campus acompañados por nuestros increíbles embajadores de programa, quienes les mostraron cada área y les dieron una experiencia divertida y práctica de lo que hacemos aquí en CBTECH.
A lo largo del día, los estudiantes participaron en actividades apropiadas para su edad, diseñadas para despertar su curiosidad, generar entusiasmo y ayudarles a imaginar nuevas posibilidades para su futuro. We had an amazing time celebrating the end of the 1st Quarter a few weeks ago. Many came dressed up in creative costumes, bringing lots of energy and excitement to campus. Several of our programs joined in the fun by hosting themed activities and friendly competitions that kept everyone engaged.
To top it off, we treated our students to a delicious nacho bar—always a favorite! It was a wonderful way to come together and wrap up the 1st quarter on a high note.

1/14/25: Last Friday, Civil & Environmental Engineering students went on a field trip to the Upriver Dam and Well, accompanied by Mrs. Lambert and Ms. Buratto.
Our students explored how civil and environmental engineering comes to life in the real world! They learned how engineers design and maintain large structures, manage water flow, and protect surrounding ecosystems. Huge thank-you to our hosts for giving students an inside look at engineering in action—it was an inspiring and informative field trip! 🌊👷♀️👷♂️
