Mrs. Schultz's Art class has been busy being creative! In fact, we are actually in our 4th year of art at SVT. Recently, students are working on cardboard animal sculpure heads while at the beginning of the year students made hand sewn sketchbooks. Schultz also has a digital media class this year too. @SpokaneValleyTech

🎉Congratulations to Scott Midland for completing the CTE Teacher Certification Program. He works at Stevenson High School Welding and Automotive instructor.🎉

Monday and Friday we will be having some spirit days!! See below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

🔨Our NCTA PM Construction students are hard at work deconstructing practice rough opening walls as part of our Tiny Houses project. 🏠This process helps students better understand framing techniques, accuracy, and how structures come together—then come apart.
Hands-on learning at its best as our students build skills for the real world, one wall at a time! 👷♂️📐✨

On Thursday, December 18, NCTA will be conducting a shelter in place drill at 12:00 at our Mount Vernon campus. A shelter in place procedure is used when it is safer to remain inside than to leave the building. This could be due to an environmental condition, such as smoke or hazardous chemical spill.
Activating the Shelter-in-Place Procedure
❇👉🏽1️⃣Immediately close all classroom and/or office windows, shades and doors.
❇👉🏽2️⃣Verify attendance: call the office only if a student is missing from the class roster or if there are any visitors or students not on the class roster in the classroom.
❇👉🏽3️⃣Staff members not assigned to a classroom should report to the office immediately for direction.
❇👉🏽4️⃣The outside air must be sealed off in the event of an emergency - this may be achieved by placing wet towels at the bottoms of doors, using duct tape for all windows that open and door frames, covering windows with plastic or paper and placing duct tape over outlets.
❇👉🏽5️⃣ Ignore all alarms and bells; wait for the "all Clear" announcement, phone call or email.
During a Shelter in Place event, normal office and classroom activities may continue inside the affected buildings. Students and employees must remain in the building until notified of an "All Clear" by district/school administration or emergency responders.
👨🚒Speaking of emergency responders, check out our Whatcom Allied 👩⚕️Health and Fire Science students collaborating around First Aid procedures. They are loving the opportunity to see the natural connections and getting to know their NCTA classmates.
📢Nice work, Mari and Mark. Let's make it a great week!👏

Our Fire Science students have spent the first part of this year learning about their turn out gear - what it is, what it does, how to put it on quickly and correctly - and that have had a chance to experience what it feels like to do physically taxing activities while dressed in all of that gear!

Law and Fire volunteered at the Wreaths Across America event at Mueller’s Funeral Home this morning. Wreaths Across America is a nationwide event where volunteers lay wreaths at a veteran’s grave. Wreaths Across America’s motto is that we all die twice. The first time when we stop breathing and the second time when our name is said for the last time. Today as the wreaths were laid, each veteran’s name was read. Thank you to our students and instructors for participating in this moving ceremony 🇺🇸 @Tri-TechSkillsCenter

CBTECH Criminal Justice students Gerson Perez, Emmanuel Zepeda, Karen Larios, Ileana Apolonia, and Regina Perez participated with local law enforcement officers in the Tip a Cop program last week. The fundraising event helps raise money for the Shop With a Cop program, which will be held next week. We appreciate everyone who came out to support this event that benefits so many families.

A little school spirit to end our Work Wednesday assembly. @CBTech

Two of Mrs. Schultz class were busy last week!
On Friday her 11th grade Humanities got to go to The Spokane House Interpretive Center which explores the history of the early fur trade in Spokane and local Native American culture. Thank you to Ranger Kara for all her detailed information on this part of local history. Then in the afternoon they got to go to The Davenport Hotel and check out the tree displays and the amazing 1920's style archetecture of the hotel. The first photo shows students checking out the Hall of Doges which is modeled after Venetian Gothic Style. (photo 1-3)
On Thursday, her digital media class got to go to both Whitworth & SFCC to check out their art galleries and buildings. Plus, at SFCC they also got to have a chat with two professors of their Graphic Design program. Thank you to Stacey at Whitworth; Cozette, John, Sean, and Ira at SFCC. Our students LOVED visiting both campuses.
