This year, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community partners, more than $37,000 in scholarships was awarded to 41 outstanding students as they prepare to take the next step in their careers and education.

The maritime industry supports our communities, protects the environment, and keeps global trade moving, and the people behind it make the impact possible.
In this series, hear from professionals across the Port of Tacoma, The Northwest Seaport Alliance, and our local maritime industry as they share what they do, how they got there, and what inspires them.
First up: Meet Sara Potter, Environmental Project Manager.
Sara leads the Blair Waterway Deepening Program, supporting economic growth at the Port of Tacoma while creating new habitat from clean dredged material.
Her work aligns with Maritime|253’s sustainability pathway, helping students see what careers in environmental stewardship can look like.
Last week, PCSC held our Senior Awards Night! For the first time ever, we hosted the event off-site because we have outgrown our commons space — a true testament to the growth and success of our students and programs.
This year:
174 seniors earned honor cords to wear at graduation
We recognized our SkillsUSA and HOSA state placers
17 students earned SkillsUSA letters
We celebrated 17 Seniors of the Year representing each of our programs
Three PCSC students also received scholarships from local business and community organizations
Congratulations to all of our seniors on their incredible accomplishments. We are proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see what your future holds!

During this internship experience, students were cutting blanks into parts that are delivered to the clean room to be bonded into an engine panel assembly for a commercial jet. NCTA graduate Jesus also had the opportunity to show current students Alyi and Fabian how to trim and shape non-metallic honeycomb materials used in aerospace manufacturing.
These hands-on experiences give students valuable industry skills while connecting classroom learning directly to high-demand careers in aerospace manufacturing.

PM FITE completed a timed confidence course at a local fire station this week! We connected hose to the fire hydrant, climbed ladders, then raised and lowered 150 feet of hose over three stories. Such a fun drill! Contributed by PM Fire & EMS Class Rep, Shay. #FutureReady #WANICFITE

In our Pre-Vet Tech class, students explored animal anatomy through pig and rabbit dissections to better understand body systems and veterinary care. For students interested in the veterinary field, experiences like this provide valuable real-world learning and a deeper understanding of how veterinarians care for animals every day. 🩺🐾
