🎉 Celebrating Our Future Immunizers! 🎉
Our Pharmacy Technician students have been hard at work this month! We were honored to have Dr. Kimberly McKeirnan, the creator of the Pharmacy Technician Immunization Training Program developed at Washington State University pharmacy.wsu.edu, with PTCB. who led a comprehensive certification session for our students.
Each student participated in a hands-on training, administering and receiving three injections under professional supervision. Despite initial nerves, they all emerged confident and enthusiastic, ready to contribute to public health efforts.
Dr. McKeirnan was thoroughly impressed by their dedication and skill. This training is a significant step toward expanding the role of pharmacy technicians in immunization services, enhancing accessibility and efficiency in healthcare delivery.
Congratulations to our newly certified immunizers! Your commitment to advancing healthcare is truly inspiring. 💉👏

In Mrs. Burrato's environmental engineering class they did an art assignment that asked them to explore the natural world and their place in it. It was actually an entry for Bow Seat's (the world’s largest environmental youth program for the creative arts) "Ocean Awareness Contest." Here is what the students came up with! We love how this project mixed arts with science.

Justin and Ryan from Boeing's Workforce Development came up to our Anacortes campus this morning to congratulate four of our Core Plus Aerospace Manufacturing students on accepting their exclusive full-time employment offer as a Grade 5 Structures Mechanic at the Everett factory following their graduation from high school later this month. Jesus, Santiago, and Tony are graduating seniors from Mt. Vernon High School and Ben will be graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School. These students earned the prestigious BPET (Boeing Pre-employment Training) certificate by being NCTA Highly Sought After award recipients. A Highly Sought After award is given to our students who model top-tier employability in numerous soft-skill categories, as developed with input from our industry partners. The BPET certificate was created by Boeing's Workforce Development as a way to streamline students that are interested in a career at Boeing and who exhibit the characteristics that Boeing needs in its workforce. A signed BPET certificate from our instructor is a job offer for specific job codes and allows students to jump over the hiring process. As Mr. Leander says, "it's the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket!" This group marks 10 students from Anacortes, La Conner, Mt. Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley that have accepted the BPET certificate since its inception in 2023.
