Never Been Done Before Food Show @ Cascadia Tech Academy
Chef Andrew McColley and Culinary, Baking & Pastry Arts students are setting the new standard for food shows. This never been done before event featured different levels of culinary professionals in the same room. From vendors to brokers to clients & students. Each culinary professional had a student assistant to help set up display booths. Many had food samples ready for taste testing.
This was a trendsetting event that will be duplicated for years to come.

2024 Annual Company Picnic @ Cascadia Tech Academy!
As we emulate industry, we celebrated our students with an end-of-the-year company picnic. Programs presented industry certificates, competency certificates, and special awards in the classroom and then they all came together to participate in fun and games around campus. Staff and students participated in activities like tug of war, basketball, volleyball, corn hole, face painting, music, cotton candy, photo booth and a car show. Fun was had by all.

25 Fashion Design students designed and constructed outfits from recycled goods and products for the Washington State Recycler’s Association (WSRA) Trashion Show. They found some fun and fresh ways to reduce, reuse, recycle, and "upcycle" materials and garments.

Spokane Valley Tech!
STEM Academy ASB Leaders Sam Molloy, Drew Creese and Chloe Nelson presented at South Pines Elementary's STEAM night yesterday. They had an interactive station with Oobleck, which is a non-Newtonian fluid made of cornstarch and water. Oobleck will behave as a solid or a liquid depending on how much pressure you apply. If you dip your hand in it, it will feel like a liquid, but if you squeeze or punch it, it will feel solid. A fun (and messy) way to learn about science!

BCFD 1 is the best! Firefighters from BCFD 1, Station 140 brought their brand new fire engine to Tri-Tech Skill Center Fire & EM. Awesome!!
Their purpose today was to instruct Tri-Tech Fire students on several methods to properly carry and raise fireground ladders. Properand efficient use of fireground ladders requires a lot of practice and team work to ensure firefighters can effectively perform skills during an emergency. In addition to ladder carries and raises, students learned to climb ladders safely, how to enter/exit a window form a ladder, how to leg-lock when working from a ladder to prevent falling. Many students had to overcome their fear of heights, to trust themselves, their classmates, and equipment. We all learned a lot, thank you B1 and Sation 140 crew members.

Today, our New Tech Prep Aviation and Welding students had an incredible visit to the local air base to explore the diverse careers the Air National Guard offers, from avionics to hydraulics and beyond. The sky’s the limit! #NEWTechAdventures #connectwithnewtech
