Ruth, a Gonzaga Prep student, first heard about NEWTech during her ACL surgery when she met a NEWTech Medical Assisting student completing their clinical experience @nworthopaedics That moment sparked her interest—now, she’s in our Medical Assisting program, getting hands-on training and industry exposure.
Her goal? Attend the University of Washington and become a pediatrician.
‘NEWTech is giving me the opportunity to job shadow, gain real insight into the medical field, and build a strong foundation in anatomy and medical terminology.’

These amazing photos are of our 2023 Firefighting and Hanford alumni, Emma T. who was on the Cougar Creek Fire with the Dept of Natural Resources in Washington. She was on night shift, throughout her assignment, and she had different jobs. She patrolled and held the line scouting for spots in the engines, UTVs and hiking the dozer line. She lit back fires off the line using drip torches, fusees and quick fire flare guns. We are so proud of the work she and her team did to help protect lives and property. #CTETOREALLIFE @Tritechskillscenter

Our Auto students have been doing great and have really learned a lot during the first half of the year. A few weeks ago, Mr. Steinmetz was able to take a small group to compete at SkillsUSA for Auto and his three students took the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place spot which mean all 3 students are going to State! Congrats CBTECH Auto!

Welding did great in the SkillsUSA competition for Fabrication and Sculpture taking 3rd and 4th place. Look at the great work they were able to produce. Great job CBTECH, on to State!

No too long ago, these rockstars volunteered to be helpers for the firefighters testing for their state Firefigthers certification. It gave them a great opportunity to network and gain some great experience. We're always amazed on how much work they're willing to put in even on their time off.

Inside the Sacred Heart Inpatient Pharmacy with Haley, Hunter, and Sean as they complete their clinicals with @providencehealthsystem
Haley (NATS): “Shannon’s class gave me focus and made me realize I can do anything! I plan to work as a pharmacy tech while in school, all the way up to my dream career in forensic crime investigation.”
Hunter (Shadle HS): “NEWTech helped me confirm my passion for pharmacy before committing to college. The hands-on experience has been invaluable, and I’m still planning to become a pharmacist.”
Sean (Spokane Valley): “NEWTech and Shannon’s class got me inside a real pharmacy, running meds across the hospital, working the carousel, and filling code boxes—it’s been an amazing experience!”
Their supervisor @providenceeasternwa had high praise: “The students are progressing nicely, eager to learn, and a joy to have!”
