Today PSSC students from Dental, Sports Medicine, Pre-Nursing, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy Tech attended the HOSA conference at Tacoma Community College to explore pathways in healthcare and connect with industry professionals.
This experience helped students gain insight, motivation, and preparation as they work toward the state conference in Spokane this March.
Big shout-out to Ms. Yvonne for pulling off conference magic and to Mr. Chaz for being the ✨elite✨ chaperone.

🎉 Surprising Our NCTA Director With the Jenny Lake Collection! 🎉
For the past two months, NCTA Animation & Graphic Arts students have been quietly working on a special project: a custom art collection inspired by our Director’s favorite furry friend—Jenny Lake! 🐾💙
As part of this cross-program collaboration, students visited our Veterinary Technician Program, where Jenny spends her days helping students learn the essentials of canine care and supporting those preparing to launch their careers in Veterinary businesses.
During each visit, our NCTA students posed Jenny for photos used as reference material for original artwork. From these images, students created:
✨ Custom stickers
✨ Hand-designed wrapping paper
✨ A full portrait illustration of Jenny Lake
All artwork was printed in-house by students and delivered as a surprise gift to our (very delighted!) Director.
This project celebrates:
💡 Creativity
🤝 Cross-program collaboration
🐶 Jenny’s important role as a classroom learning assistant
Huge kudos to our students and staff who brought the Jenny Lake Collection to life! 💙🐾

Winter Weather Updates - Walla Walla Public School - SEATech Skills Center

Out and About with Dr. G: Preparing School Buses for Winter Weather
December 2025 Video – Chaining a School Bus - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYyjS3GU34s
Walla Walla Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ben Gauyan is back with a new installment of his Out and About with Dr. G video series. This month, he heads to the Transportation Department to meet with Director John Griffith and Mechanic Wes Polley for a firsthand look at how the district prepares its school buses for winter weather.
In the video, Wes walks Dr. Gauyan through the step-by-step process of chaining up a school bus — a critical safety measure when snow and icy conditions hit the valley. Viewers get an inside look at the behind-the-scenes work that ensures students travel safely all winter long.
The goal of Out and About with Dr. G is to highlight the wide range of experiences, expertise and learning opportunities that power Walla Walla Public Schools — all while Dr. Gauyan rolls up his sleeves and gives each activity a try. This month’s episode offers a unique window into the essential efforts that keep our buses, and our students, moving safely through the season.

Fun day yesterday in Mrs. Loncon's freshman health class...even other teachers were involved. It's a well-awaited tradition by now...the Recipe Rearrange Project!
What it entails: students have the task of planning then creating a recipe to make it a healthier option. You can see in the blueberry muffin example they may switch out certain ingredients to cut carbs/fat, etc. Well done students, cooking/baking looks good on you!
Lambert, Warren, Schultz, Rice, and both Ms. Lewis' came down and tried student's recipes!
