@Cascadia Technical Academy Foundation
Special thanks to Sundt Construction and the Sundt Foundation for visiting and supporting the Cascadia Technical Academy Foundation!
They toured our campus, connected with our Construction students about their values of Skill, Grit, and Purpose, enjoyed lunch prepared by our Culinary students, and even tried our Aviation simulators.
Things got interesting when our Aviation instructor “killed the engine” mid-flight — but Sundt Senior Project Manager Ryan Silbernagel, a licensed private pilot, successfully made an emergency landing near Daybreak Park.
Don’t worry… it was all in the simulator!

@Northwest Career & Technical Academy
A big thank you to Brad Adams of Hexcel Corporation for visiting our NCTA Core Plus Aerospace Manufacturing classes and sharing his knowledge and experience with our students! ✈️
Brad spoke with our classes about what Hexcel does and what a career in advanced manufacturing can look like. As the world’s largest producer of aerospace carbon fiber and a leading supplier to the U.S. military aerospace programs, Hexcel plays a critical role in the aviation and defense industries.
Students also had the incredible opportunity to take a field trip for a personal tour of the Hexcel facility, getting an up-close look at advanced aerospace manufacturing in action.
Brad has been a tremendous supporter of our Aerospace program over the years and serves on our Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), helping ensure our students are learning the skills needed in today’s workforce. With Brad retiring this summer, he will be greatly missed. Thank you for all you’ve done for our students and program, Brad! 👏

Seniors Alex and Adam,of Advanced Computer Science, are working on a cross bow crypt game that they've made. It's their Trade Show Project. Adam has been working on it for 2 years in Unity and Alex has joined him this year making textures for it in Material Maker.
What is Trade Show? It's a year long project, in a topic of the students choice, that can be research based, exploratory, making a physical product such in computer science or manufacturing, a test product with iterations,etc. It is also so much more because we have projects in biotech/biomed, emt/firescience, engineering, and more!
It's really a time for our students to shine in their learning/creativity.
We had Pitch Day where students presented what their projects might be in November to community members and professionals and have had time to improve upon them since.
Students will present at the end of May or early June...more to come as we get closer! It's a long time SVT tradition.

⚡🔬 NCTA Core Plus Aerospace Penny Battery Lab!
Students are building on their new knowledge of DC voltage by creating their own batteries using simple household items. Using pennies, aluminum foil, and saltwater-soaked paper towels, students stacked layers to produce voltage and see electricity in action.
This hands-on lab demonstrates that batteries are fundamentally simple devices made from dissimilar metals and an electrolyte, helping students understand the core principles behind how electrical energy is produced and stored.
Learning the fundamentals today that power the technology of tomorrow! ✈️⚡

Mr. Prish’s Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship students are six weeks into their Commercial Electrical unit, where they are learning conduit bending, box installation, and basic commercial wiring methods. The projects pictured were completed by Andrew, Ryan, and Hunter, who are developing the precision and workmanship skills expected in the electrical trade.
