🚘Last week, Mr. Traxler's Advanced Engineering class took part in the second annual derby car competition. The students each designed their cars. Most were 3D-printed. Some had a few other added materials. Students got style points as well as distance points. Mrs. Lambert and Mrs. Traxler (who stopped by just to help!) were line judges.
Style judges: Warren, Schultz, Lewis, Baumann, and St. Pierre
When all was said and done, the car that was the most round (like a barrel) won second place while the most thinnest won first. "Lil' Barrel" team: Sal K & Nathan S; "Grimm" team: Braiden P & Duncan M.
Mrs. Warren noticed that the course hand some strong angles and was a good example of a vector.
We loved seeing the students use creativity with their technical skills!

Second Apprenticeship Information Night, welcoming 15 apprenticeship programs and families from across the region. Attendees had the chance to meet apprenticeship coordinators and instructors while learning how to enter these career pathways in the future.
Apprenticeships are one of the best opportunities for students to gain hands-on training, enter the workforce, and start earning—without the burden of debt.
Did you know NEWTech is a registered pre-apprenticeship site? That means our Construction Trades programs have articulations with multiple apprenticeship programs, giving our students a competitive advantage upon completion. #connecteithnewtech
