CBTECH Culinary Takes on SkillsUSA State!
Our CBTECH Culinary Arts students hit the road for an unforgettable field trip to the SkillsUSA State Competition a few weeks ago—and what a ride it was! From cruising together in the van to enjoying some free time between events, they had a blast as a team.
When it was time to compete, our students got focused and brought their A-game—putting their culinary skills to the test against some of the best student chefs from across the state.
They didn’t walk away with top medals this year, but we’re incredibly proud of every student who earned their spot at State and represented CBTECH with skill, heart, and professionalism.
It was a fun few days full of great memories, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. Great job, chefs!

My name is Lin Mei, and I am currently a paraeducator at Evergreen High School. My specialty is Computer Science and Mathematics. I would like to teach classes like Computer Programming, Web Design, Math with Coding, and Math in Applications, as well as other related classes.

Yanitza Pineda, a former CBTECH student who graduated high school last year, is a shining example of what dedication and hardwork can achieve. After graduation, she earned an internship at the Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA clinic) in Othello, where she successfully completed her Medical Assistant Certification. She is now enjoying her role working alongside an OB doctor, gaining valuable hands-on experience in women's health. Yanitza proudly credits CBTECH for equipping her with the foundational skills and positive habits that helped pave the way for her success in the healthcare field.

Thank you to our industry and post-secondary partners for participating in our Career Fair. Partnerships strengthen Cascadia Technical Academy, and these relationships play an important role in continuing the success of our students.
