We had an amazing Girls Who Code event this Saturday for 6th–8th grade girls! 💻✨
Our SVT high school girls did a fantastic job leading, and a big thank you to Christy Hatherly for helping make it all happen.
The middle schoolers were engaged, excited, and even left inspired to potentially start coding clubs at their own schools!
Credit: Instructor Adam Smith, SVT Computer Science (who also put on this event)

Mrs. Thompson had a major “proud teacher” moment visiting EWU Hygiene School to catch up with Piper (‘22) and Mustafa (‘19)! Both are set to graduate on May 1st, and they both shared that Mrs. Thompson’s class was the original inspiration behind their journey into hygiene school.
The success stories only get better: Piper has already landed a spot at Northview Family Dentistry where she’s currently interning, and Mustafa is preparing to enter the field of dental public health. Seeing these former students thrive and find their professional path is truly what teaching is all about!

Our February 13 Valentine's yearbook fundraiser with @thegarden509 The Garden Coffee & Local Eats was hugely successful and we met our goal!!
Students that day were supervised during class and taken over to The Garden, by most teachers, to get a drink/snack so they could take part in the fundraiser. Anyone who purchased there that day supported SVT too.
Thank you again to The Garden for being a long time partner of our school. We so appreciate the support.
That same day was iconic duo or group day, so that was fun...here's the picture from that!

In our Firefighting and Emergency Medical Services program, there are no "off days" even when there is no school. Today some of our second -year students had the opportunity to join the US Fish and Wildlife Service's prescribed burn operations. They had the chance to see their classroom learning come to life in real time. Students are studying wildland fire behavior, specifically how fuels, topography and weather contribute to fire spread. Thank you to US Fish and Wildlife Services for this incredible day! #cteskillsforreallife #tritechskillscenter
