Tri-Tech Pre-Physical Therapy and Firefighting classes had the unique opportunity to attend an orthopedic surgical viewing of a total knee replacement, hosted in collaboration with Kadlec and Providence St. Mary Medical Center. This experience allowed students to explore various healthcare pathways while engaging in real-time discussions and asking questions to the surgeon during the surgery. Mount Vernon Police Officer Paul Shaddy and Officer Robinson visited with our AM and PM criminal justice students to learn about traffic enforcement. Officer Robinson is a new officer with Mount Vernon Police Department and he was able to talk with our students about his career path into law enforcement and his experience so far as he has graduated from the WSCJTC Basic LE Academy. He is also in the last phase of his field training and has only two weeks to go! Todays program spotlight: SNO-ISLE TECH - DENTAL ASSISTING Do you dream of working in the world of dentistry? Do you want an opportunity to go straight into the industry of your dreams right out of high school? Do you want to learn about the different professions such as a dental assistant, hygienist, dental receptionist or dentist? Join our DENTAL ASSISTING program! Our students will learn skills such as sterilization, prepping patients for procedures, assisting the dentist, basic dental procedures, and more! Students will practice on mannequins and other students in the program to gain skills before they move on to assisting a local dentist with real patients in our on-site dental clinic. Students will also complete an internship at a local dental clinic during second semester! Dental Assisting students can earn 3 high school credits (Lab Science equivalency credit available) and industry recognized certifications. Students will also become a WA State Registered Dental Assistant. Prerequisite of Health & Biology required before applying. Applications will open Nov. 7th at 4 PM! Sno-Isle Auto Tech Program! The Automotive Technology program at Sno-Isle TECH recently completed another re-accreditation with the ASE Education Foundation. This makes it the fourth round of re-accreditation for us. As with any process similar to this, it takes a lot of time and effort along with support at multiple levels.
