The primary purpose of Skills Centers is to give students the academic and work skills to successfully enter the job market or advanced education and training. Skills Centers provide cost-effective, quality job training in programs that would be too expensive to offer at every high school.

Since it appears that winter is coming whether we like it or not, we wanted to remind everyone about our winter weather procedures. Tri-Tech follows Kennewick School District delays and cancellations. A 2 hour delay in Kennewick means no AM Tri-Tech or AM Pre-School. A cancellation in Kennewick means no Tri-Tech at all. Since we cover a large geographical area with very different weather depending on where you are, there will be times when our outlying districts will call 2 hour delays but the larger districts will not. Students will be school excused if their district is delayed or cancelled. Most importantly we want parents to know that if you feel it is not safe for your child to come to school, whether on a bus or if they drive, please call our attendance office and let us know to excuse your student (509-222-7307). CBTECH Days: Inspiring Our Future Learners!
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 5th-grade classes from across our district to our annual CBTECH Days event, formally known as Potato Days! Students toured our campus with the help of our amazing program ambassadors, who introduced them to each program and gave them a fun, hands-on look at what we do here at CBTECH.
Throughout the day, students participated in age-appropriate activities designed to spark curiosity, build excitement, and help them imagine new possibilities for their future. From exploring career pathways to discovering new skills, the energy and engagement from these young learners were incredible!
Our hope is that this experience opened their minds to alternative secondary education options and showed them just how super cool Skills Centers really are.
A huge thank you to our ambassadors, staff, and the elementary schools who joined us—your enthusiasm made CBTECH Days unforgettable!
