Walla Walla Public Schools is proud to recognize and honor its dedicated principals during October’s National Principals Month. This annual celebration highlights the critical role school leaders play in ensuring academic success, building positive school cultures, and supporting students, staff, and families.

“Our principals are the heart of our schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Ben Gauyan. “They lead with vision, compassion, and a relentless commitment to student learning and well-being. Their leadership ensures our schools are welcoming places where every student can thrive.”

Principals across the district serve as instructional leaders, mentors, and advocates. They balance the complex responsibilities of managing schools while remaining deeply connected to students and staff. Their work extends far beyond the school day, as they continually seek ways to strengthen partnerships with families and the community.

Walla Walla Public Schools joins school districts across the nation in expressing appreciation for the dedication and service of its principals. Throughout the month, the district will highlight the unique contributions of each principal, underscoring the impact of their leadership on student achievement and success.

“National Principals Month is an opportunity to say thank you,” added Dr. Gauyan. “We are grateful for the hard work, professionalism, and leadership our principals bring to Walla Walla Public Schools every day.”

Sno-Isle TECH is hosting it’s second “In the Know Day” today for the staff at our sending schools, our shared students have been so excited to show off the things they do each day while they are here on our campus.

Field Trip to the Spokane Waste to Energy Plant (first photo):
Environmental Innovations and Civil Engineering students toured Washington’s only Waste to Energy Plant in Spokane, last week. The facility burns municipal waste to produce electricity while processing 800 tons of solid waste daily. Students explored all areas of the plant, including the incinerator. That experience left some students holding their noses! The trip gave them a firsthand look at sustainable energy practices in action.
BioTech Students Getting Hands On (second photo):
Last week week in BioTech, students practiced aseptic techniques used in medical labs to prevent microorganism transfer. They also learned streak plating, a method to isolate microorganisms from larger samples. Next week’s focus will be gram staining. Their instructor, Ms. Nielsen, recently received a $10,000 Murdock Charitable Trust grant. The funds will help purchase equipment and supplies to give students an exceptional lab experience.
